Angel Tree at Keller Williams of Grand Rapids

Every year in the month of December Keller Williams agents pick a project or place to give to. In the years past we have given Christmas dinner and gifts to a few local families. This year, we decided to put up an Angel tree in the office and decorate it with names of kids from St John Home and below their name was their wish list.
We have gotten to know St John pretty well this year, and they have become near and dear to our hearts. (If you read earlier blogs and can see some of our actives with them this year).
Agents picked an Angel card and went shopping. Judy Brasseur and Mary Buckius organized this project for the office. Gathered all the gifts donated by agents and went shopping for additional items, then delivered them to the home.
This is all done through the non-profit Keller Williams Realty of Grand Rapids has established - KW Outreach. Many agents donate a portion of their commission checks to KW Outreach, so we have the funds to really reach out to a community that has supported us. However these funds are not just used to reach out to the community, but to help a KW agent who may need it. It is not all business and sales – or maybe it is just good business to help others!

Want to help?
The agents of Keller Williams are donating through KW Outreach to help ensure that the the kids at St. John's Home have a very Merry Christmas. KW Outreach has place an Angel tree in the office so Keller Williams agents can select an angel and buy a gift for a child; but we're asking the public to help, too. Click here to see the wish list. This list includes needs for each of the homes with kids we're trying to help. The items can be new or slightly used. You may drop your gifts off at Keller Williams Realty of Grand Rapids or contact an agent you know, and they will pick it up.

Another amazing example of the Keller Williams office staff hard at work in our community; the Keller Williams of Grand Rapids office raised $130 for backpacks and supplies for the St. John's Home kids for back to school.

It took a little bit of effort, but our effort finally paid off. We just received notification from the IRS that KW Outreach is officially recognized as a Public Charity Organization with 501(c)(3) exepmt status. Congratulations to all who helped make this happen.
